Because we talk about the rich, it is only normal that we talk about the richest US president as well. Powerful men in the history of the United State to have been blessed enough to chair the most powerful government office in the world.

It is not enough to know that the US President is the most powerful human being in the world in terms of the powers possessed by the union, which is at the disposal of the POTUS. It is necessary that we also know the financial strength behind the person occupying that office.

Knowing about the financial worth of the number one citizen of the United States is another ranking factor that should not be pushed aside.

Over here in Nigeria and Africa at large, we are experiencing a very ugly situation where people fight to get into political offices, so they can steal from the public purse.

The idea of a rich man seeking to be in charge of a nation inspires confidence because such persons are oftentimes, comfortably beyond the structural intimidation of the system.

Especially in a country like America that is home to the richest people in the world. People like Jeff Bezos, who is the richest man in the world and the owner of Amazon and the money bag behind Microsoft, Bill Gate.

The office of the President of The United States was established in 1789. The first President was George Washington, who won a unanimous vote of the Electoral College. And was never affiliated to any of the political parties.

Grover Cleveland is the only president to have served two non-consecutive terms in office and is therefore counted as the 22nd and 24th president of the United States.

The shortest presidency in American history is that of William Henry Harrison , who died 31 days after taking office in 1841.

The president to have served more than two terms is Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served over twelve years, before dying early in his fourth term in 1945.

Four presidents died in office of natural causes, namely:

Franklin Delano Roosevelt served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945. Roosevelt’s wife, Eleanor, was his fifth cousin once removed. 

Roosevelt appointed the first woman, Frances Perkins, to a cabinet position.  He won a record four presidential elections. He held office for over twelve years, longer than any other president.

He was the first president to fly in an airplane while in office and was the first president to appear on television when he made a speech at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. And also the first president to establish a presidential library.

These were debts owed lawyers who defended him and his wife during the years-long investigation of Whitewater and other business dealings and helped in the Monica Lewinsky impeachment battle.

He might not be the richest us president to ever occupy the White House but he is definitely the one president that made White House his sexual play ground.

Clinton and his wife make money from speeches and books.

It was reported that Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary earned a combine fee of more than $153 million in paid speeches from 2001 until Hillary Clinton decided to run for president.

Clinton’s wife, Hillary, is the only First Lady to be a U.S. Senator, cabinet officer, and presidential candidate. He is also the only president who was a Rhodes Scholar. And the first president to win a Grammy Award.

Madison was the first president to ask Congress for a Declaration of War. And  was the first president to have his Vice President die in Office. The Vice President for his second term also died in office.

Roosevelt was the first American to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

He became the first sitting president to leave the country when in 1906 Roosevelt sailed to the Panama Canal to inspect the construction progress.

The teddy bear was named after Roosevelt. And was the first president to earn the Medal of Honor. which was awarded in 2001 by President Bill Clinton.

 6,000 books from Jefferson’s private library were purchased for $23,950 to help start the Library of Congress. It is also amazing to note that Jefferson founded, designed and built the University of Virginia.

He is the first president of the United States of America. He was the one who led Patriot forces to victory in the nation’s War for Independence.  He presided at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, which established the U.S. Constitution and a federal government.

He played a key role in adopting and ratifying the Constitution and was then elected president (twice) by the Electoral College.

He was also a slave owner who supported measures passed by Congress to protect slavery. But later  freed his slaves in a 1799 will.

His estate at the time of his death was worth an estimated $780,000 in 1799. His net worth was $587.0 million, including his 300 slaves.

He is the only one on this list of the richest US president that actually more than half a million dollars net worth.

He is worth an estimated $3.1 billion. Making him the first billionaire president. His wife Melania, became the first First Lady to become a U.S. citizen by naturalization instead of by birth or descent.

An estimate that is derived from $310 million in personal cash/assets, $80 million in business brands, $590 million from golf courses, $1.5 billion in New York City real estate, and $660 million from real estate held outside of NYC.

It is said that Final Trump received at least $413 million in today’s dollars from his father’s real estate empire, much of it through tax dodges in the 1990s. [1]

Donald Trump’s first big project was the Commodore Hotel, which he partnered with the Hyatt Organization to buy in 1976 for an undisclosed price, and renamed the Grand Hyatt.

The bulk of Mr. Trunp net worth comes from his brand value, which he began building in the 1980s.

It all started in the 1980s when the Trump Organization began to licencing the Trump name to other companies, solidifying its prominence globally.

Today, many Trump brands pay licensing fees to use the name and are not owned by Trump Organization – including the Trump Ocean Club and Trump Fine Foods.

Trump has claimed to be worth as much as $10 billion.
